Children’s holiday greeting card contest winner announced

Nine-year-old Kaylee McQuiggan’s has been chosen as the winner of this year’s DM/CDS holiday greeting card contest.

McQuiggan described her artwork as an image of “Someone ice fishing saw the Canadian military helicopters and soldiers rescue all the people stranded by an avalanche and they even rescued the snowmen for the children’s Christmas.”

In November, Deputy Minister Jody Thomas and Chief of the Defence Staff, General Jonathan Vance announced a competition to find an image for their official holiday greeting card this year.

The Holiday Greeting Card Contest was open to children of the military community between the ages of four to 12.

More than 130 submissions were made.
