Apple Cider Vinegar | Netflix
Everyone is looking for a cure, a solution to their illness without the endless doctor visits, pills or risky surgery. Wellness guru Bell Gibson claims she has survived brain cancer on her social media platform, and thousands of followers are eager to discover how. This new series arrives on Netflix on Feb. 6, 2025, and explores the premise of how one influencer hooks the desperate and naive into believing the impossible. The Hollars | Netflix
This gem, directed by John Krasinski in 2016, follows the story of graphic novel artist John Hollar, who returns to his hometown to visit his critically ill mother. Despite the serious context, a talented cast delivers a comical take on this challenging family reunion, complete with a quirky brother, a distraught but loving father and a mom who just wants her dysfunctional family to find a way to love and support each other again. The Diplomat | Netflix
Starring Kerry Russell (Felicity, the Americans) as a career diplomat juggling her new high-profile job as Ambassador to the United Kingdom and her turbulent marriage to a political star in the midst of an international crisis. If the premise sounds hauntingly familiar, it is. Several reviews of the Diplomat remark on how close to reality it is with references to the world’s current political climate. The Night Agent | Netflix
The Night Agent is an American action thriller television series based on the novel of the same name by Matthew Quirk. It follows the life of an FBI agent who works in the bowels of the White House, manning a phone that never rings…until the night it does, propelling him into a conspiracy that leads him all the way to the Oval Office. Now in its 2nd season. Starring: Gabriel Basso, Luciane Buchanan, Fola Evans-Akingbola.

Man on the Inside | Netflix
This comedy series stars Ted Danson, a retired professor who gets a new lease on life when a private investigator hires him to go undercover inside a San Francisco retirement home. One reviewer describes the series as “A fantastically relatable production for all ages, but particularly those who may be experiencing loss or loneliness in their lives. The Pitt | CraveTV HBO
Those who miss Noah Wyle of ER will be thrilled to know he’s back in another medical drama that offers a different take on the typical hospital drama. It’s all action, no filler, with intense medical situations and deeply engaging human drama to keep you hooked. Each episode unfolds in real-time, with an hour of the show representing an hour in the hospital, creating a real sense of urgency and realism. If you’re looking for a Canadian comedy series with a twist, this might just be the ticket. Inspired by the real-life theft of $18 million of government-stored maple syrup, The Sticky is full of wonderful characters, performances, music and hilarity. Ruth Landry, a syrup farmer, turns to crime when the bureaucratic authorities threaten to take away everything she loves; she teams up with a Bostonian mobster and a French-Canadian security guard for a heist on Quebec’s maple syrup surplus. Starring Reese Witherspoon and Will Farrell, this movie has all the elements to fulfill your need for comic relief during turbulent times. The story follows their awkward dilemma of hosting family weddings at the same resort when plans go awry, and each discovers their event has been double booked. It’s one comedic moment after another as each character tries to outdo the other with chaotic flair. Starring: Will Ferrell, Reese Witherspoon, Fortuen Feimster, Jack McBrayer, and Nick Jonas.

Goosebumps: The Vanishing | Disney+
Much like in the first season, The Vanishing starts 30 years in the past, when a poor teen suffered a tragedy, one that returns in the present to haunt a new set of kids. You’ve watched the 2001 Josh Hartnett war classic, but now hear the story behind the 1993 Black Hawk Down incident from those who lived it.
