Remembering Captain Tim Bowman
Known for his “amazing smile and cheerful personality” husband, father, son, brother and friend Capt. Timothy Bowman tragically and suddenly passed away in September.
Capt. Bowman had gone missing a month prior and was later discovered near Milton Island, just east of Kingston, ON.
In the wake of the Bowman families tragedy, an education fund has been set up for his two children Claire and Liam. The GoFundMe page setup by his friends and family is looking to raise $10,000 for the financial and education needs of his two children.
Capt. Bowman was dedicated member of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and a passionate athlete.
He graduated from the Royal Military College of Canada, where he received a Bachelor of Engineer, in 2004 and went on to serve as a tactical helicopter pilot at 1 Wing Headquarters. He also served a tour in Afghanistan from 2009-2010.
During his training, Capt. Bowman earned the Top Hat Award on his wings course, given to those who excel at piloting skills and showcase an exemplary attitude.
Capt. Bowman was also known for his athletic skills, winning the Canadian Forces Ironman in 2006 and 2008 and came in 3rd place in 2007. He also completed the Ottawa Marathon in 2009.
Capt. Bowman is survived by his wife Lisa, children Claire and Liam, parents Susan Barwell and Craig Bowman.
