Locating Family CAF Airman From 1944
While visiting family in Haworth, West Yorkshire, England, Ontario resident Philip Armstrong came across a framed photograph of a Canadian Armed Forces Airman.
Dated 1944, the gentleman in the photograph’s name was Ron. He was originally from Ontario, Canada. However, that was all the information that could be gathered from the picture.
Found hidden between floorboards of Rosebud Cottage, the photograph was discovered during renovations.
The cottage was originally built in the 1700s.
“My Dad was in the air force and is also called Ron. He lives in Haworth, I live in Ontario and was raised in Haworth. So this has to be fate right,” said Mr Armstrong.
Mr Armstrong shared the image with CMF Magazine in the hope of finding relatives of the Airman in the photograph through the website and social media.
“Let’s make some connections. I’d like to share this original image with Ron’s family if we can find them,” he added.
If you recognize the photograph or think you might know Ron’s family, please reach out to [email protected] to be put in touch with Mr Armstrong. Larger copies of the photograph are available upon request.
