Navy Command and Senior Appointments for 2024 APS

Senior Navy appointments continue to be announced by the Royal Canadian Navy (RCN) throughout this summer.

Just recently, VAadm. Angus Topshee and CPO1 Tom Lizotte announced several Navy Command and Senior appointments, including amendments for the 2024 active posting season (APS).

“Unit level command appointments are the centre of gravity for RCN culture as we have entrusted you with our most precious asset, our people. Do not betray that trust. Take charge and lead your units with pride and conviction to ensure that they are ready to fight. This should be the highlight of your career to date, and we hope that you enjoy every day of your time in these positions.

“We have a lot of work to do and you are critical to delivering the navy that Canada needs now and into the future,” said VAdm. Topshee, commander of the RCN, and CPO1 Lizotte in CANFORGEN 094/ 24.

Commanding Officers

The following officers are appointed commanding officer, according to the CANFORGEN:

1. Cdr. J. Maurice was appointed commanding officer of HMCS Charlottetown MT24 (crew transfer)
2. Cdr. N Buxton was appointed commanding officer HMCS Fredericton MT24. (crew transfer)

Executive Officers

According to the CANFORGEN, the following were previously appointed executive officer:

1. LT (N) A. Beaver appointed executive officer HMCS Summerside MT23
2. LT(N) A. Duff was appointed executive officer HMCS Glace Bay MT23
3. LT (N) S. Michaud was appointed executive officer HMCS Goose Bay MT23
4. LT(N) C. Reynolds was appointed executive officer HMCS Nanaimo MT23
