Chief of the Defence Staff Announces CPO1/CWO Special Appointments and Retirements 2023

Special appointments in the arenas of Strategic Leadership Team (SLT), Post Tactical Leadership Team (PTLT) and Tactical Post Unit Leadership Team (TPULT) were recently announced by the Chief of the Defence Staff, Gen. Wayne Eyre.

“It is my privilege to announce the following Chief Petty Officer 1st Class (CPO 1)/CWO appointments that have taken place, or will occur in 2023. I offer my heartfelt congratulations and sincerest best wishes to those taking on new appointments and responsibilities,” stated the CDS in CANFORGEN 102/23.

Strategic Leadership Team (SLT) Appointments in 2023

The following CPO 1 and Chief Warrant Officers (CWO) were appointed to a SLT in 2023:

CPO 1 P.G. Harel was appointed Chief Professional Conduct and Culture Command CWO in Ottawa. CWO Harel will be replacing CWO G.R.C. McCann.
CWO R.K. Sullivan will be appointed Command CWO Canadian Joint Operations Command in Ottawa. CWO Sullivan will replace CWO G.Y.E. Poissant.

Post Tactical Leadership Team (PTLT) Appointments

According to the CANFORGEN, the following CPO 1 and CWOs were previously appointed to a PTLT:

CPO 1 D. Bisal was appointed Canadian Fleet Pacific CPO 1, in Esquimalt. CPO 1 Bisal replaces CPO 1 A.D. Lee.
CWO R. Colgan was appointed 3 Canadian Division Division Deputy CWO in Edmonton.
CWO B.H.J. Gardner was appointed Canadian Army Doctrine and Training Centre Reserve CWO Advisor in Kingston.
CWO A.C. Harris was appointed 39 Canadian Brigade Group Sergeant-Major, in Vancouver.
CPO 1 A.D. Lee was appointed Maritime Forces Pacific CPO 1 in Esquimalt. CPO Lee replaces CPO 1 T. Blonde.
CWO S.C. MacEachern was appointed Royal Canadian Air Force Reserves CWO in Ottawa. CWO MacEachern replaces CWO J.A. McKenzie.
CWO R.J.A. Reisch was appointed CPO 1/CWO Corps CWO in Ottawa. CWO Reisch replaces CWO M.J.M. Godin.
CPO 1 R.S. Wilcox was appointed Canadian Forces Base Borden CWO in Borden. CPO 1 Wilcox replaces CPO 1 T. Jones.

CPO 1 A. Aubry will be appointed Naval Personnel and Training Group CPO in Esquimalt, replacing CPO 1 I.M. Kelly.
CWO M.F.S. Bouchard will be appointed Strategic Joint Staff CWO in Ottawa, replacing CWO R.K. Sullivan.
CPO 1 R. Campbell will be appointed Naval Reserve Fleet CPO 1 in Quebec City, replacing CPO 1 T.D. Kelly.
CWO P.P. Chartrand will be appointed 2 Canadian Division Sergeant-Major in Montreal, replacing CWO M.P. Forest.
CWO J.C.P. Chevalier will be appointed Army Reserve CWO in Ottawa, replacing CWO A.L. Boucher.
CWO R.J. Clarke will be appointed Task Force El Gorah CWO in Egypt, replacing CWO W.L. King.
CWO J.S.J. Cote will be appointed 4 Canadian Division Support Group Sergeant-Major in Petawawa, replacing CWO T.B. Buchanan.
CWO P. Dufour will be appointed Canadian Materiel Support Group CWO in Ottawa, replacing CWO D.J.A. Cormier.
CWO C.J.P. Dupont will be appointed Canadian Forces Intelligence Group CWO in Ottawa, replacing CWO J.H. Ellis.
CWO W.L. King will be appointed 1 Canadian Mechanized Brigade Group Sergeant-Major in Edmonton, replacing CWO R.J. Clarke.
CWO F.G.J. Lavoie will be appointed Assistant Deputy Minister Information Management CWO in Ottawa, replacing CWO J.P. Turcotte.
CPO 1 N.T.L. Leavitt will be appointed Director General Military Careers and Director Senior Appointments
CWO in Ottawa, replacing CPO 1 P.G. Harel.
CWO D.B. Mistry will be appointed 4 Wing CWO in Cold Lake, replacing CWO L.E. Darling.
CWO J.S. Newell will be appointed 33 Canadian Brigade Group Sergeant-Major in Ottawa, replacing CWO C.A. Kletke.
CWO J.I.S. Parent will be appointed Chief of Force Development CWO in Ottawa, replacing CWO R.S. Wilson.
CWO R.I. Rickard will be appointed 15 Wing CWO in Moose Jaw, replacing CWO N.R. Thorne.
CPO 1 J.G. Rouillard will be appointed Judge Advocate General CWO in Ottawa, replacing CWO M. Walhin.
CWO R.R. Sherman will be appointed Canadian Forces Information Operations Group CWO in Ottawa, replacing CWO S.D. Mailer.
CWO H.F. Twellmann will be appointed Director General Conflict Solutions and Services CWO in Ottawa, replacing CWO P.J. Albertson.
CWO J. Yeremiy will be appointed Joint Task Force Iraq CWO in Iraq, replacing CWO J.S.J. Cote.

The following CPO 1 and CWO were posted to TPULT:

CPO 1 R.A. Ferguson was appointed Sea Training (Pacific) Coxswain in Esquimalt, replacing CPO 1 D. Bisal.
CPO 1 G. Seguin was appointed Fleet Maintenance Facility Cape Scott CPO 1 in Halifax, replacing CPO 1 E. Burns.

The following CPO 1 and CWO are appointed to Tactical Post Unit Leadership Teams (TPULT) in 2023:

CWO H.S. Asselin will be appointed Director Military Careers CWO in Ottawa, replacing CWO J.A.N. Deroy.

CWO B.A. Smith will be appointed Air Environment CWO Career Manager in Ottawa, replacing CWO D.B. Mistry.
CPO 1 J. Sorensen will be appointed Fleet Maintenance Facility Cape Breton CPO 1 in Esquimalt, replacing
