2025 Canadian Army Commanding Officer and Regimental Sergeant Major Appointments Announced

Upcoming Commanding Officer and Regimental Sergeant Major appointments for 2025 were recently announced.

The announcement also included appointments that have already taken place in 2024. 

“I offer my heartfelt congratulations and sincerest best wishes to those taking on new appointments and new responsibilities,” read Commander of the Canadian Army Lieutenant-General Mike Wright’s statement in CANFORGEN 185/24.

RSM appointments 2025

According to the CANFORGEN, the following members were previously appointed Regimental Sergeant Majors (RSM) in 2024: 

  1. CWO J.N. Nickerson appointed RSM Royal Canadian Dragoons (RCD).
  2. CWO J.D. Roberge appointed RSM 2 Combat Engineer Regiment (CER).
  3. CWO L.T.D. Royer appointed RSM 2 Canadian Division Support Group PERS SVCS (2 CDSB PERS SVCS).
  4. CWO J.F.J. Savard-Damphousse appointed RSM 2 CDSB Tech SVCS.

The following members are appointed RSMs in 2025:

  1. MWO R.D.E. Gilbert appointed RSM of 4 Engineer Support Regiment (4 ESR) (on promotion). 
  2. MWO C.R. Keith appointed RSM of 4th Canadian Division Training Centre (4 CDN Div TC) (on promotion). 
  3. MWO L.A. Leblanc appointed RSM 5th Canadian Division Training Centre (5 CDN Div TC) (on promotion).
  4. MWO D.P. MacIntyre appointed RSM 2 Royal Canadian Regiment (2 RCR) (on promotion).
  5. MWO D.K. Nordin appointed RSM Canadian Army Intelligence Regiment (CDN Army Int Regt) (on promotion). 
  6. CWO R.F. Sellers appointed RSM Peace Support Training Centre (PSTC).
