Two CH-147F Chinook helicopters cooly land to take on the north in our favourite photo of the week.
Master Corporal Alana Morin captured the helicopters from 450 Squadron as they touchdown at the Cambridge Bay Airport in Nunavut on Aug. 22. The Chinooks participated in Operation NANOOK-NUNAKPUT.
Operation NANOOK-NUNAKPUT is a specific northern operation to increase the Canadian Armed Forces’ presence and surveillance along the Northwest Passage. It falls under the umbrella of Operation NANOOK and is one of four deployments the CAF undertakes to Canada’s north.
