In this week’s favourite photo, His Majesty’s Canadian Ship (HMCS) Charlottetown sails in sync with an American Naval ship.
HMCS Charlottetown is currently the flagship of Standing NATO Maritime Group Two (SNMG 2). Pictured here on July 7, 2024, the ship is conducting operational patrols in conjunction with the U.S. Naval ship, USS Wasp, in the Mediterranean Sea. HMCS Charlottetown is in the front with USS Wasp in the back.
SNMG 2 is one of four Standing Naval Forces deployed under the umbrella of NATO Allied Maritime Command. HMCS Charlottetown will serve as the flagship of this group for the next six months as it remains deployed in the Mediterranean Sea under Operation REASSURANCE.
