This week’s favourite photo features HMCS Ottawa, HMCS Vancouver with embarked CH-148 Cyclone helicopter “CANUCK”, and MV Asterix in formation.
Aviator Gregory Cole snapped the three ships and helicopter on Dec. 1, 2023, during a photo Exercise (PhotoEx) while transiting the Pacific Ocean.
The ships and helicopter set sail from Canadian Forces Base Esquimalt, BC, on Aug. 14 for a five-month deployment in the Indo-Pacific region.
HMCS Vancouver and HMCS Ottawa continued the Royal Canadian Navy’s work in the region to foster relationships with partner nations and undertook several exercises in the Pacific.
