Military members dig up the earth to make way for a new road in the town of Sunberanjar, East Java, Indonesia, in our favourite photo of the week.
Armed Forces personnel from the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF), United States Army, and Tentara Nasional Indonesia worked on the project. The image was shot on Aug. 25, 2024, by MCpl Genevieve Lapointe.
The road was constructed on the grounds of Puslatpur 5 during Exercise SUPER GARUDA SHIELD 24. The road will be used by both military and civilians.
Exercise SUPER GARUDA SHIELD is an annual exercise hosted by Indonesia and led by the United States to reinforce partnerships in the Indo-Pacific region. Exercise SUPER GARUDA SHIELD 24 was attended by 23 nations, including Canada.
