Still time to register for the 5th annual Calabogie Peaks Military Family Ski Day
For a day of snow-filled fun and free giveaways, military members and their families are invited to the Calabogie Peaks Ski Resort on Friday, March 22 for the Fifth Annual Military Family Ski Day.
“I just would love to have the military family, my family, come out and enjoy a day of skiing and enjoy the day with their friends and family,” said Jim Hemlin, COO Of the Calabogie Peaks Ski Resort and former member of the CAF.
On the day of the event, besides skiing for free, the first 400 military families will be given either a $25 voucher from Stinson for gas or Farm Boy for groceries.
The resort is known to have a long-running, strong relationship with the Canadian military. Soldiers often visit the peaks for training exercises.
“Calabogie is an interesting resort that has always supported and worked with the Canadian Armed Forces,” added Hemlin, who recalls visiting the resort as a private for ski school and operation courses.
Building upon this relationship not only will it be hosting its annual Military Family Ski Day but is also working in conjunction with Canada Company to raise funds for its programs. Money raised from sponsors of the event will go towards Canada Company programming that supports children, families and military members going through transition.
Admission to the Fifth Annual Military Family Ski Day is free for military members and half price for military families.
