Mishall RehmanRegistration is now open for the signature event of the Canadian Army: the Canada Army Run.
Aimed at bringing together Canada’s military with the everyday Canadians they protect, the Canada Army Run is a one-of-a-kind event known as “No Ordinary Race.”
The Canada Army Run 2024 will be the 17th edition of the event.
“It is a pleasure to feel the energy and camaraderie within the Canada Army Run year after year. We invite everyone to experience that for themselves in 2024. Come out and participate, meet our soldiers, and support our charitable causes to support the people behind the uniform: Canadian Armed Forces members, veterans, and their families,” said LGen. Jocelyn Paul, former Commander Canadian Army, in a media release.
The run is the largest annual public event for the Canadian Army and is a way for Canadians to learn more about the Canada’s army and what they do.
Event Types
The Canada Army Run offers both in-person and virtual events. The in-person event will take place on Sept. 22 in downtown Ottawa.
The event includes a 5K, a 10K, and a half marathon (21.1K). It also includes two special challenges: the 5K + 10K Sergeant Major’s Challenge and the 5K + half marathon Commander’s Challenge.
The virtual run will take place from Sept. 6 to Sept. 27. Participants can complete a 5K, 10K, half marathon, 5K + 10K Sergeant Major’s Challenge, or a virtual-only 5K + 10K + half marathon Commander’s Challenge.
Millions Donated for Troops
The Canada Army Run not only serves to connect Canada’s soldiers with everyday Canadians but also supports Support Our Troops and Soldier On. Both charities support military members and their families who face unique challenges brought on by military life.
According to the Department of National Defence (DND), since 2008, the Canada Army Run has raised more than $4.7 million for Support Our Troops and Soldier On.
Registration Types
Registration prices vary depending on early bird specials and the distance selected. Registration prices range from $45 to $105.
The run’s prices are going up at midnight )(Eastern Time) on July 31, 2024.
