Invictus Games Toronto 2017 looking for volunteers

The volunteer portal for the Invictus Games Toronto 2017 is now officially open. The organization is looking for thousands of volunteers to help with a wide variety of tasks during the games next September.

“The volunteer roles are diverse in nature and scope and will include duties like preparing the field of play, recording quotes from competitors, taking tickets, transporting competitors to events, providing medical services, supporting behind the scenes with the Opening and Closing Ceremonies, and much more,” said Michael Burns, CEO, Invictus Games Toronto 2017.

Volunteers are essential to the success of the Games and a great way to show gratitude for military members and veterans.

“Volunteers are the lifeblood of the Invictus Games Toronto 2017. Without them, we would not be able to offer the level of experience that we are planning for the Games next year. From helping to stage the sports competition to greeting competitors and their families more than 1,500 volunteers will be essential to our success,” added Burns.

“Canada has a long tradition of volunteerism, and it is heartening to see the huge level of interest since the opening of the volunteer portal – more than 2,000 applications in the first day alone. Our volunteers will be the personality of our Games in Toronto,” he concluded.
