Military gives Veteran experience and knowledge required for successful career in Real Estate
Yvan Rhéaume is an accomplished Veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces and a successful Real Estate Agent serving the Ottawa region.
Rhéaume joined the Reserves as an Admin Clerk while studying Economics at the Université Laval in Quebec City.
In 1990, he transferred to the Regular Force as a Personnel Admin Officer and later became Log HR in 1998 before retiring in 2016.
Rhéaume is no stranger to the real estate industry. His parents, along with his two brothers, owned rental properties.
“I seriously considered a Realtor career. However, at the time, I had neither bought or sold properties nor moved. I thought I would have no credibility,” says Rhéaume.
However, his military career gave him the experience and knowledge required for Real Estate.
During his career, Rhéaume lived in four different provinces and has experienced the difficulties and obstacles that come with moving.
“Before I retired, I was a senior analyst in grievances for the Final Authority. I was analyzing complex grievances related to relocation,” says Rhéaume. “So, I would say, humbly, I have good knowledge related to military relocations and its intricacies.”
Rhéaume serves both military and civilian clients. He notes more than 95 per cent of his clients have been military, ex-military, DND, and even RCMP.
“It helped other military members to be confident I am well equipped to help them make a smooth relocation,” says Rhéaume.
