Mishall RehmanNo foul play is suspected in the deaths of the four cadets who lost their lives in a tragic car accident on the Royal Military College of Canada’s (RMC) campus last Friday.
The Office of the Canadian Forces Provost Marshal issued a statement in relation to the report, which was released Wednesday by the Canadian Forces National Investigation Services (CFNIS).
“At this time, there is no reason to believe there is any foul play from an outside source related to this incident. Coroners in Ontario investigate deaths that appear to be from unnatural causes or natural deaths that occur suddenly or unexpectedly,” read the statement.
About the Cadets
- OCdt Jack Hogarth was completing a Bachelor of Arts in Military and Strategic Studies and going to be Armoured Officers in the Canadian Army.
- OCdt Andrei Honciu was completing a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and going to be a Logistics Officer in the Canadian Army.
- OCdt Broden Murphy was completing a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and was going to be an Aerospace Control Officer in the Royal Canadian Air Force.
- OCdt Andrés Salek was completing a Bachelor of Arts in Military and Strategic Studies and going to be Armoured Officers in the Canadian Army.
Ongoing Investigation
According to the statement, the CFNIS is supporting the ongoing Ontario Coroner’s investigation with the assistance of the local Military Police Detachment and Kingston Police.
Additionally, The CFNIS will not release any further information until the Coroner has completed their report.
To Graduate this Month
The four cadets who lost their lives in a car accident were close to graduating from Canada’s prestigious military college. Their car was pulled off the Point Frederick peninsula at RMC on the morning of Friday, April 29.
A memorial will be held in the coming days for the four cadets.
