Chief of the Defence Staff announces Colonel and Captain(Navy) appointments, promotions and retirements
New Capt. (Navy)/Colonel promotions, appointments, and retirements were announced this month by Gen. Jonathan Wayne, Chief of the Defence Staff.
“I wish to offer my deepest appreciation for the service and sacrifices of those officers and their families as they transition from the CAF, and I offer my heartfelt congratulations and sincerest best wishes to those assuming new appointments and responsibilities,” said Gen. Eyre, in a CANFOREN released earlier this month announcing the new appointments.
New Appointments, Promotions, & Retirements
- Col. D.G. Adams will be appointed Director Strategic Operations and Plans, Chief Professional Conduct and Culture, in Ottawa. He will be replacing Col. J.S. Dubois.
- Capt. (Navy) G.W. Adamthwaite will be appointed Deputy Commander Canadian Armed Forces Transition Group, in Ottawa.
- Col. F.G. Auld will be appointed Director Strategic Coordination, Chief of Force Development, in Ottawa. Col. Auld will be replacing Col. M.J.C. Sullivan.
- Capt. (Navy) M.J. Barefoot will be appointed Commander Canadian Forces Intelligence Group, in Ottawa. Capt. (Navy) Barefoot will be replacing Col. J.A.D. Goulet.
- Colonel acting-while-so-employed A.B. Battista will be promoted Colonel and appointed Special Advisor Security and Force Protection at Canadian Joint Operations Command in Ottawa. Battista will be replacing Colonel acting-while-so-employed L.T. Smith.

- LCol. M.P. Williams will be promoted Colonel and appointed Branch Head Business Information Management in Brunssum, Netherlands, replacing Col. A.B. Battista.
- LCol. J.T.M. Willis will be promoted Colonel and appointed Director Aerospace Equipment Program Management (Maritime) in Ottawa, replacing Col. S.G. Racle.
