Air Operations Support Technician Now Open to Regular Force Personnel

The Royal Canadian Air Force is now accepting applications into the newly created Regular Force component of Air Operations Support Technician (AOS Tech).

Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) members can apply for a position in this occupation via the Voluntary Occupation Transfer (VOT) Program for trained Regular Force members, according to CANFORGEN 166/24.

Those interested must file their applications to DMCPG5 by Feb. 3, 2025.

Requirements

According to the CANFORGEN, Regular Force members who meet the eligibility criteria under the Voluntary Occupation Transfer Program are welcome to apply.

Non-commissioned members who have achieved their operational functional point in the following RCAF occupations may apply for AOS Tech:

  • 00135 AVN Tech
  • 00136 AVS Tech
  • 00138 ACS Tech
  • 00261 AWS Tech
  • 00343 NDT Tech.

Those interested can submit their VOT application via their chain of command to ensure they reach the local personnel selection office by Jan. 10, 2025. Those members who have already submitted a VOT application for a different MOSID and wish to redirect it to AOS Tech must reach out to their local PSO before the application deadline.

Applicants are also advised to look into the trade before applying.
