Under pitch-black skies, a CH-146 Griffon utility tactical-transport helicopter departs the Maria Montez International Airport in our favourite photo of the week.
The CH-146 Griffon departed from the Dominican Republic after the helicopter and crew aided the Canadian Embassy in Haiti. The image was taken on April 25.
Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) members were in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, this spring to aid the Caribbean nation in its efforts to combat growing gang violence that caused an estimated 50,000 citizens to flee the capital.
It is reported that Joint Task Force 2 members deployed to the region.
