This week’s favourite photo captures a Canadian Armed Forces infantry soldier reloading in the haze of a smoke grenade.
Lt Jennifer Kusche shot the image on March 11, 2024, during Exercise CRYSTAL ARROW, a 10‑day exercise featuring approximately 3,000 soldiers from 14 NATO nations.
The exercise ran in the training area at Camp Adazi in Latvia, wrapping up on March 29.
CAF personnel deployed to Camp Adazi are currently on Op REASSURANCE, the CAF’s largest overseas mission. The mission contributes to NATO’s assurance and deterrence measures in Central and Eastern Europe.
