Volunteers Needed to Conduct Captivity Survival and After Capture Training

The Conduct After Capture Training Centre (CAC TC) is currently looking for “highly motivated volunteers” to conduct Captivity Survival/Conduct After Capture Training.

“The CAC instructor (CACI) function calls for candidates who possess unique aptitudes and skill sets, including self-discipline, maturity and the ability to maintain emotional control and restrain in a stressful environment,” stated CANFORGEN 163/22 announcing the current openings.

Applications are accepted throughout the year. However, the 2023 CACI-AC applications will not be accepted after March 10, 2023.

Who can apply?

Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) personnel from both Regular Force and Reserve interested can apply for the positions if they meet the following requirements:

• Minimum rank must be Cpl/LS for NCMs and LT/SLT for officers.
• NCM must have Primary Leadership Qualification.
• Minimum security clearance is level II (secret). Those who do not have this level of clearance must start the process to do so as soon as they apply for this position. Proof of this must be provided.

Additionally, those applying must remember that they will be required to act out different roles for the purpose of training.

Stable & Well-Grounded Personnel

“The level of maturity and self-discipline required for a CACI are found only in the most stable and well-grounded personnel,” stated the CANFORGEN.

Considering the criteria for this position, volunteer candidates will be required to undergo a selection process at the CACI Assessment Centre. According to the CANFORGEN, this will identify those personnel “who possess the necessary personal attributes and abilities to succeed.”

Timeline

The CANFORGEN makes it a point to highlight that both the volunteer and their chain of command must realize that, if selected, they will be required to report for training in late April. The training is one week.

Then, again, the volunteers will participate in a six-week CACI course in September/October 2023.
