Part 2 Survey on Impact of COVID-19 on Veteran Families
To collect information and insights on Veteran families, the Vanier Institute of the Family is surveying veterans and veteran families.
The organization is inviting people to share their experiences, thoughts, and ideas with a particular focus on how COVID-19 is impacting veteran families in this COVID-19 IMPACTS: Veteran Families Survey.
This is the second cycle, as the first survey was released last year, a few months into the current COVID-19 pandemic.
GATHERING INFORMATION
As stated in a press release, “we are crowdsourcing to gather information and insights about how Veteran families are feeling, what they are doing and what they are thinking about the future as we continue to adapt to changing circumstances.”

Anyone who is a veteran or a veteran family member can participate in the second cycle of this survey, even if they didn’t participate in the first part.
The second survey will explore Veteran family life before and during the pandemic. It is estimated the survey should take about 10 to 20 minutes to complete.
The press release informed that all the information that is provided in the survey is confidential. Aggregated data will be used to inform evidence-based decision-making for those who study, serve and support families in Canada.
TRUE PATRIOT LOVE FOUNDATION
True Patriot Love Foundation is funding the survey. The Foundation aims to “raise awareness around the challenges of service and fund programs for service members, Veterans and families that support their well-being, enable rehabilitation and recovery from injury, assist the children and spouses of those who serve, and promote re-integration into communities following service,” stated on the organization’s website.
