Mishall RehmanThe 2020 edition of the Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo has been cancelled due to the current COVID-19 pandemic affecting Canada.
The decision was made in an effort to protect the health and safety of not only the public at large but also the show’s cast, volunteers, production team and crew.
“The Tattoo has a lot of moving parts and performers from around the world. Given the current situation, it just wasn’t possible to continue planning the show. With people practicing social distancing and having people around the world involved to pull off the show, we could no longer continue to operate as normal,” said Scott Long, managing director and executive producer of the Tattoo.
Additionally, according to Scott, due to the pandemic and public fear of traveling, ticket sales had come to a halt several weeks ago.
This year would have marked the Tattoo’s 42nd edition had it moved forward as planned in June.
The Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo’s team does, however, reassure audiences that it will be back next year. The show is set for June 26 to July 3, 2021.
“We are working on ensuring that we have the resources and the talent to move forward in 2021. With all of our government partners and regional partners standing along with us, we should be coming back in 2021 with our best show ever,” said Long.
All tickets purchased over the phone or online via ticketatlantic.com will automatically be refunded. The refund could take anywhere from two to three weeks.
