Military Spouse Career Training and Employer Cafe 

Mark your calendar if you live in the Kingston – Trenton 401 corridor. To connect military spouses and families with valuable employment Military Family Services (MFS) and the Kingston Military Family Resource Centre (KMFRC) are hosting a career training and employer’s cafe on Feb. 28., 2020. 

The event is part of the Military Spousal Employment Network (MSEN) initiative. Military spouses from Trenton are also invited to attend the event.

“I think it’s a great tool — a great way to network with employers, said Augustina Charles-Frederiksen, Community Development and Stakeholder Relations Manager- Spousal Employment, Military Family Services. “It’s going to be a lovely afternoon.”

The career training part of the event will include two sessions delivered by public relations professor at Algonquin College, Stephen Heckbert. 

The sessions are entitled: Managing Managing your networking expectations: How to get the most from your efforts, and You know it best: Crafting your story to maximize your success as a military spouse. 

Then the event will feature MSEN employers from both the local and national levels in a networking cafe. 

 The employer cafe will also feature a LinkedIn photo booth for those interested in having professional pictures taken for their LinkedIn account.

The Kingston career training and employer’s cafe will be held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Ambassador Hotel and Conference Centre in Kingston.
