Ground Beef & Rice Casserole

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 2 cup cooked rice
  • 1/2 cup green pepper
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 celery, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup mushrooms
  • 1/2 cup red pepper
  • 1 cup chow mein noodles
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • ½ cup peas (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook rice as per directions.
  2. In a medium size frying pan cook beef for 5 minutes. Add the celery, and onions and continue cooking until celery and onions are transparent.
  3. Then add remaining ingredients to frying pan and transfer to a casserole dish.
  4. Cover casserole and bake at 350 degrees for 20-30 mins.
  5. Then sprinkle noodles on top and bake uncovered for 5-10 mins.
  6. Serve.
