Military Police Motorcycle Relay set to raise money for Canadian children’s organizations

The 11th annual Military Police National Motorcycle Relay (MPNMR) is taking place on July 26 through August 22, 2019, and beginning in BC.

The cross country relay serves as an annual charity fundraiser that has raised over $700,000 on behalf of the Military Police Fund for Blind Children and other charities across the country since 2009.

“I have been lucky enough to hear first hand from Blind Fund recipients how the support has changed their lives. I hope all participants get the opportunity to experience the joy knowing they are helping deserving children by being part of the ride big or small,” says Dale Troia, National Chair of the MPNMR.

The MPNMR was founded by charity-minded Canadian Armed Forces Military Police, led by Mark Farrar, who desired to make a difference in the lives of Canadian children.

The ride has grown both in popularity and purpose and continues to raise awareness and support for visually challenged children across Canada.

Riders from CAF bases from across Canada and civilian riders are all eligible to participate, whether for a few hours, a day or the entire route.

“Each year is different. However at least 500 to 1000 participate during the nearly month-long event any given year.  A lot more people are involved in dinner or other fundraising events that exceed 1000 if not 2000 non-riders each year in Canada,” says Troia.

This year, riders will travel coast to coast from British Columbia to Newfoundland over 27 days and will be making stops at various Canadian Forces Bases, riding through the Highway of Heroes and other motorcycle routes.

Registration is still open and will continue to take registrations until it is sold out.
