“Lord Strathcona’s Horse (Royal Canadians) is proud of its heritage, and of all our soldiers who fought and paid the ultimate sacrifice on the battlefield of Moreuil Wood. The Battle of Moreuil Wood commemoration provides the Regiment a time to reflect and recognize the sacrifice of soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice, giving their life for their country, or whom were injured, so that we can live in peace. The Moreuil Wood commemorative parade is held annually as a tribute to Fallen Comrades, and as a great symbol of Regimental pride,” said Lieutenant-Colonel Eric Angell, Commanding Officer, Lord Strathcona’s Horse (Royal Canadians).
The Strathconas commemorate the Battle of Moreuil Wood in remembrance of their fallen soldiers and a symbol of pride. Founded in 1900, Lord Strathcona’s Horse (Royal Canadians) is Canada’s only heavy armoured unit. The Regiment serves Canada in keeping with the motto “Perseverance.”
