Lawerence MacAulay named new Minister of Veterans Affairs

The Prime Minister’s Office has just announced the ministers who will be moved in this latest cabinet shuffle. 

Lawerence MacAulay, formerly the minister of Agriculture has been moved into the role of minister for Veterans Affairs. 

Lawrence MacAulay is a longtime MP from Prince Edward Island, and previously managed Veterans Affairs back when it was part of the Secretary of State role. 

“To represent veterans at the cabinet table, it’s a distinct honour, it’s an honour to be a minister at the table in any portfolio, but to have the chance to be in veterans affairs, really for the second time, is indeed a great honour… To have the honour to represent the people who preserve peace and democracy for us worldwide, that’s a long piece from a demotion,” MacAulay said in a CTV News interview.

The other ministers who have been moved include Marie-Claude Bibeau, who was formerly the minister of International Development and will now be the minister for Agriculture. Also, Maryam Monsef, in addition to being the minister for Women and Gender Equity, will also be the minister for International Development

The Government will continue to deliver on its commitments to Canadians, and create jobs, strengthen the middle class, and help communities everywhere build a better future,” said the press release from the Prime Minister’s office.
