Royal Military College in Saint-Jean to host first open house of 2019
The Royal Military College in Saint-Jean, Quebec is hosting its first open house of 2019 on January 19th from 9am to 2pm.
RMC Saint-Jean is one of two locations, the second being in Kingston, Ontario. Both facilities offer high-level education for career paths into the Canadian Armed Forces.
The facility is open to men and women who may be interested in a career with the Canadian Armed Forces and who are interested in furthering their education to do so. During the open house, visitors are invited to tour the grounds, learn about enrollment, speak with faculty and current students, as well as, gain more information about the programs offered at RMC.
“In October, the last open house of 2018 we had over 1000 visitors to RMC Saint-Jean,” says Lt. Delphine Bonnardot, public affairs officer, RMC Saint-Jean.
On average, 300 applicants will be accepted into the RMC each year, with 14 per cent of those successful applicants studying to become an Infantry Officer, with Artillery Officer following at 10 per cent.
Following success at the RMC, graduates are required to fulfil five to seven years with the Canadian Armed Forces.
“The open house on Jan 19th is an opportunity to show the Royal Military College Saint-Jean to the people and to inform them about the college and university programs we offer. We are proud to train the future officers of the Canadian Armed forces and to provide them with an environment conducive to their education. We invite people to come see us or visit our website to learn more about our programs,” said LCol René Poulin, Deputy Commander, RMC Saint-Jean.
To be eligible to apply for the RMC you must be a Canadian citizen, at least 16 years old, and on the verge of obtaining a high school diploma
