Veterans Transition Network to expand program to support females

The Veterans Transition Network in Quebec is expanding their program to support female Veterans transitioning to civilian life following their military service.

GardaWorld’s contribution to the expansion program will fund the development of specialized training for clinicians within the VTN programs that takes into account the unique challenges faced by female Veterans, and will support the delivery of the first pilot program in Quebec.

“Last night’s event was a great success. We officially launched our training program for female Veterans and Reservists in Quebec in partnership with True Patriot Love,” said the Honourable Christian Paradis, senior vice president at GardaWorld and former federal minister. “We value the importance of such a program to give female Veterans a chance at another promising career.”

Martin Regimbald, vice president, human resources of GardaWorld says a Veteran or Reservist can have a fulfilling career at GardaWorld, adding that the quality jobs offered are perfectly aligned with military training.

In partnership, the True Patriot Love Foundation has provided over $1 million in funding to VTN, enabling delivery of 36 programs for 193 Veterans across the country.

The VTN has already helped over 850 veterans in 9 provinces and is continuing to grow. Other programs have provided services to RCMP officers, and bilingual French/English speakers.

All programs through the VTN are open to any Canadian Forces or RCMP Veteran and are co-led by graduates of the program who are also Veterans.
