Canadian Field Ambulance travel the roads to train

Motorists travelling between Borden, On and Deep River, On. may notice the highways a little busier with military vehicles.

Military personnel from 2 Field Ambulance based out of Petawawa are conducting military medical training between Nov. 1 and Nov. 9.

“The aim of this exercise is to foster military and civil cooperation and preparedness, essentially ensuring that 2 Field Ambulance medics are ready to support varying civilian agencies in the event of a real emergency,” explained Captain Daniel Mazurek, public affairs officer, Garrison Petawawa

The unit began their training at CFB Borden on Nov. 1. Then headed into Toronto on Nov. 2 till Nov. 5., and will be completing their training in Deep River from Nov. 7 till the Nov. 8.

Local residents in each of areas can expect to see uniformed soldiers as well as military medical vehicles on provincial and municipal roads.
