PSP Petawawa introduce payment plans for Summer Camps

From culinary experiments to paintball adventures, Personnel Support Programs (PSP) Petawawa has your kids covered for exciting and unique summer camp memories this year.

Starting July 4, PSP’s camps will run for eight weeks at the Recreation Complex and South Side Community Centre and are specifically tailored to engage children and youth according to their interests and hobbies.

“We have worked for many years to design a summer camp that fits the needs of the children in Petawawa, whether they are military or community members,” said Brittany Robins, Community  Recreation Coordinator 4 CDSB Garrison Petawawa, Ops Svcs, Canadian Forces Morale and Welfare Services (CFMWS).

For the first time last year, PSP Petawawa revamped their camps to create specialty camps with a unique theme.

“We make very specific program plans each week for our camps so that we can offer the best quality experience possible,” commented Robins.

After receiving a great deal of feedback after last year’s new format, children can again experience this year a variety of camps that change every week. Specialty camps include a Youth Master Chefs camp, Extreme Challenge Camp, Ruff Rider, Power Girls youth camp, and Youth 1st Art Camp.

“This allows parents, children, and youth pick out a variety of different camps for their children that really cater to their interests, skills, and needs,” explained Robins.

As part of the Extreme Challenge Camp children will partake in an Amazing Race contest around Petawawa. The children part of the Ruff Riders or Power Girls camp will take a trip to Ottawa to play laser tag and visit a trampoline park and those part of the Military Mania camp will have the opportunity to visit the base and check out the simulator and more.

“Overall, there is really something for everyone in our summer camp no matter what they like- Gymnastics, Sports, Art, Drama, etc.,” stated Robins.

Realizing that summer camps can run a big bill, PSP also offers payment plans. Meeting in confidence with interested in parents, Robins helps parents to establish a payment plan that suits them best. PSP accepts a variety of different payment plans.

“In the end, we’re all here for the same reason and just want the kids enrolled and whatever way we can make it financially available, we’ll do the best we can,” said Robins.
