Redblacks hosts CAF Appreciation Night

Tonight the Ottawa Redblacks will face the Calgary Stampeders at TD Place. This game marks the Redblacks annual Canadian Armed Forces Appreciation Night (CAF). Following the national anthem, the evening will feature a Royal Canadian Airforce (RCAF) C-18 Hornet fighter aircraft flyby.

Military personnel who attend the game will receive 10 per cent off all Redblacks merchandise and $2 off their jumbo dog plus pop/beer and pizza plus pop/beer combos. You need to show your military identification to receive the discount.

Also, season ticket holders have the opportunity to purchase a ticket for a CAF member to attend the July 12 game. A ticket will also be donated by the Ottawa Redblacks, for every ticket purchased by a season ticket holder, to show their appreciation for both CAF member and season ticket holders.

The C-18 Hornet fighter flyby symbolizes the partnership between the Redblack and the Canadian Armed Forces. The flyby will take place around 7:30 p.m., right when the Appreciation Night game is set to begin.

The aircraft will fly over the stadium no lower than 500 feet above the highest point of its route. After the flyby, the C-18 Hornet fighter will return to its home base safely at 3 Wing Bagotville, Que.

Flybys are conducted in support of special events. They are carefully planned and closely monitored to ensure the safety of spectators at all times.

CAF members are eligible to get 50 per cent off their tickets to the game by calling (613) 232-6767 x1.
