Homegrown Heroes night is back at the Calgary Stampede

For the second year, Canada’s first responders and members of the Canadian Forces will be celebrated and recognized at the Calgary Stampede’s Homegrown Heroes night on Monday, July 9, 2018. Members of the Canadian Forces, veterans, first responders, and their family and friends, will receive a 50 percent discount on their Evening Show tickets for that night.  The Evening Show will feature the excitement of the GMC Rangeland Derby chuckwagon races followed by the Calgary Stampede Grandstand Show.

“We want to honour, celebrate and give back to those who give so much to our community. This special night is meant to bring together our local heroes with their families, friends and the community, to thank them for all that they do,” says David Sibbald, president and chairman of the board at the Calgary Stampede.

Unique programming for one night only has been added to the Evening Show to recognize and celebrate Canada’s heroes. Selected members of the Armed Forces, veterans and first responders will be on stage in uniform for the national anthem before officially kicking off the evening, and guests will be treated to a special presentation from Lord Strathcona’s Horse as their troop performs its musical ride.

Tickets for Homegrown Heroes can be purchased at http://www.calgarystampede.com/heroes. Use the promo code HERO to receive the 50 percent discount online. Heroes and their family and friends can call the Stampede Ticket Office directly at 403.261.0315. The deadline to purchase tickets at the discounted rate is Saturday, June 30, 2018.
